MEMBERSHIP MATTERS

Please become a member of the Friends of Essex Churches Trust

Our members are the lifeblood of the Trust.  We need you to help us grow and prosper.  By joining you will:

  • Have the satisfaction of making a real contribution to the preservation of the heritage of
    Waltham Abbey Interior
    Waltham Abbey Interior
churches and chapels in Essex and East London
  • Be invited to a wide variety of events which typically include talks with eats in country houses, visits to places of interest and cookery demonstrations.  A talk on the ‘Da Vinci Code’ at Langham Hall, and visits to Bardfield Vineyard, and Copped Hall have proved very popular
  • Receive priority booking and reduced ticket prices for the two annual Study Days when we visit and learn about a clutch of widely different places of worship.  We have visited Waltham Abbey, Southend, and churches between Constable Country and Harwich, as well as Barking Abbey and churches in East and West Ham
  • Learn about our annual pre-Christmas Fair, see Events webpage.
  • Be sent mailings about grants given and Friends news including the Annual Meeting, which is always a stimulating affair

Membership costs very little:  £20 a year for individuals and £30 for couples, but higher contributions are of course always welcome.  In 2006, subscriptions produced over 30% of our income (excluding landfill tax credits).

Membership is open to individual people, churches, chapels and supportive organisations.  Each can become a Friend in their own right.  Each receives the same benefits.

If you live in the Southend area, you can join the Southend Branch which has additional activities, see Southend webpage.

TO JOIN:

  • EITHER download the application form, complete it and send it with your subscription cheque or banker’s order to Keith Gardner, our Honorary Membership Secretary.  If you are able to Gift Aid your subscription please do so.
  • OR contact Keith Gardner direct on 01708 688576

PLEASE BE AS GENEROUS AS POSSIBLE

WHEN DECIDING YOUR LEVEL OF SUBSCRIPTION

Thank you
