Church of the Month

Southend Branch

The Southend Branch of the Friends of Essex Churches Trust runs four outings each year. There are coach pick ups from Rochford, East Southend, and thence via the A13 London Rd, Hadleigh and Rayleigh.

The programme is usually available in late January and provides three half and one full day to venues largely in Essex, and on occasions, Suffolk and Kent

Thanks to a continuing recruitment campaign, supported by many of our present members,

we have been able to maintain membership at over eighty.  Even though some of our members, through ill health, are no longer able to travel with us on our outings, they continue to support us with subscriptions and donations.

Early booking is necessary as our coaches are usually fully booked.

 

Outings for 2008

Tuesday 1st April. Half Day
St. Peter & St. Paul, Clare, Suffolk with the opportunity to look round this delightful town. Antiques Centre, Country Park, Priory Gardens. Tea and Branch AGM at the village hall, Belchamp Walter.
 
Tuesday 20th May. Half Day
Church of St. Andrew, Sandon. County AGM.
Talk on Knights Templar followed by Tea in the church hall.  
 
Wednesday 25th June. Full Day
Rochester, Kent, for Cathedral and look round the town, followed by Tea at Frindsbury after visit to local All Saints' Church.
 
Wednesday 3rd September. Half Day
St. Mary the Virgin, Wendens Ambo, with Tea at Sewards End.
