Thanking everyone for their amazing support for Ride+Stride 2016, John Pickthorn, our Ride+Stride organiser, said: “Whether you cycled, walked, sponsored someone, or opened your church and provided welcome refreshments, you have been amazing. Thank you for all your hard work. You have helped to save beautiful and historic churches for everyone to enjoy.” Stay tuned for news of our next Ride+Stride on Saturday 9 September 2017.

The programme is normally available early in the New Year giving details of venues, mainly in Essex, but usually including one excursion outside the county.

The Branch, which celebrates its Diamond Jubilee in 2016, is the last of several established in the 1950s, and initially provided funds just for the repair of local churches. All money raised, principally from the coach outings, is now sent as a donation to central funds.

We are proud to have maintained a local membership of over eighty for many years. This ensures full coaches on each of the outings and requires early booking to secure a place.
