Southend Branch

The Southend Branch of the Friends of Essex Churches Trust runs four outings each year. There are coach pick ups from Rochford, East Southend, and thence via the A13 London Rd, Hadleigh and Rayleigh.

The programme is usually available early in the New Year and provides three half and one full day to venues largely in Essex, and on occasions Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Kent.

Thanks to a continuing recruitment campaign, supported by many of our present members,

we have been able to maintain membership at over eighty. Even though some of our members, through ill health, are no longer able to travel with us on our outings, they continue to support us with subscriptions and donations.

 

Early booking is necessary as our coaches are usually fully booked.

Half Day
Thursday 8th April. St Nicholas, Tolleshunt D'Arcy.
Tea at WI Mile End, Colchester.
Fare £16

Half Day
Thursday 13th May. Waltham Abbey for County AGM.
Tea at location.
Fare £11

Full Day
Saturday 26th June. Hemingford Abbots Flower Festival.
Refreshments not included in fare.
Fare £22.

Half Day
Tuesday 7th September. St Mary, Stebbing.
Tea at WI Tilty & Great Easton.
Fare £17.

We expect to have a speaker at each venue talking about the building and its history.
